transpileDependencies Results in "exports is not defined"

vue 2.5.16
vue-cli v3.0.0-beta.11

Hi all.

I’m looking for some help in using the transpileDependencies option. I’m importing DateTime from luxon (https://moment.github.io/luxon/) in my code. I, unfortunately, need my app to work with IE 11, so I tried adding luxon to transpileDependencies in vue.config.js so that babel would add the needed polyfills.

vue.config.js

module.exports = {
  ...
  transpileDependencies: [
    'luxon'
  ]
};

ClockTile.vue (my component)

<script>
...
import { DateTime } from 'luxon';
...
</script>

Now when I load up my page using npm run serve, I see the following in my console:

 warning  in ./src/components/tiles/ClockTile.vue?vue&type=script&lang=js
34:9-17 "export 'DateTime' was not found in 'luxon'

And I get the following error in my browser console:

Uncaught ReferenceError: exports is not defined

Am I doing something wrong here? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
