Import Vue from 'vue'

Hello every one
I started learning vue.js

this is my html :

<!doctype html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
    <meta charset="UTF-8">
    <meta name="viewport"
          content="width=device-width, user-scalable=no, initial-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0, minimum-scale=1.0">
    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="ie=edge">
    <title>Document</title>
</head>
<body>
    <div id="app">
        <p>{{ message }}</p>
    </div>

    <script src="node_modules/vue/dist/vue.min.js"></script>
    <script src="script.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

and it’s my js :

import Vue from 'vue';

var app = new Vue({
    el: '#app',
    data:{
        message: 'hello vue!'
    }
});

i used npm to install vue.js

but output is :

{{ message }}

when i run my html file in chrome I get this error in terminal :
Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected identifier
and in MSEdge:
SCRIPT1086: SCRIPT1086: Module import or export statement unexpected here

I have not firefox to test my code.

and this error is for line 1 of my javascript.

thats wrong. im assuming you use webpack. in that case you dont need that tag. vue is imported in your js file

import Vue from 'vue';

and webpack will create a bundle with all your imports.
